Recently, in Thanh Hoa city, Thanh Hoa province, the Ministry of Agriculture and Rural Development in collaboration with the People's Committee of Thanh Hoa province held the “Conference to implement the National Program for Aquaculture Development for the period of 2021-2030”.

ASC certified Shrimp Farming Link Signing Ceremony in Bac Lieu Province on October 30, 202129-11-2021

The General Department of Fisheries, the Department of Agriculture and Rural Development of Bac Lieu province, and the Bac Lieu Shrimp Association are expected to work together to organize the signing ceremony of the ASC certified shrimp farming association between the Shrimp Joint Stock Company and Dong Hai Hi-Tech Shrimp Farming on October 30, 2021. The signing ceremony will be presided by leaders of the Directorate of Fisheries.

Fisheries production in the first 10 months up 4.9 per cent10-11-2017

According to the General Statistics Office of Viet Nam, the country’s fisheries production in October was estimated at 677.3 thousand tons, up 4.9 per cent compared to the same period last year. Of which, fish production reached over 476.5 thousand tons, and shrimp yield gained 93.9 thousand tons, increasing by 3.7 per cent and 8.7 per cent, respectively year on year.

According to the Directorate of Fisheries, the country’s fisheries production in August was estimated at 730.5 thousand tons, up 5.7 per cent. According to the Viet Nam General Statistics Office, the country’s fisheries production in the first seven month of this year was estimated at 4,006 thousand tons, increasing by 4.4 per cent compared to the same period last year. According to D-FISH, the country’s fisheries production in May 2017 was estimated at 692 thousand tons, an increase of 5.8 per cent year on year. Of this figure, fishing production reached 311 thousand tons, up 5.2 per cent and aquaculture yield gained 381 thousand tons, up 6.3 per cent.

Thanh Hoa province: Hau Loc District’s total fisheries production increased by 24.4 per cent in 4 months of 201719-05-2017

In the first 4 months of 2017, Thanh Hoa province’s total fisheries production reached 54,524 tons of fish. Of which, aquaculture production gained 15,695 tons and fishing yield was 38,829 tons. Most of species recorded high yield included clam and marine fish reaching 4 thousand tons, black tiger shrimp and white legged shrimp, 695 tons, and traditional fish yield at 11 thousand tons.

During the Conference on the development of Vietnam’s shrimp industry held on 6th February 2017 in Ca Mau province, Prime Minister Nguyen Xuan Phuc asked the shrimp industry to reach 10 billion USD export revenue by 2025 instead of 2030. Moreover, the PM called for developing of a world-famous Vietnamese shrimp trademark while associating shrimp cultivation with sustainable socio-economic development and environmental protection.
