Vinh Phuc province: Total fisheries production increased by 0.67 per cent

Of this figure, fishing production was estimated at 892 tons, a reduction of 1.36 per cent and aquaculture output was estimated at 8,775 tons, an increase of 0.89 per cent compared to the same period last year.

Besides, total aquaculture area in the province was estimated at 5,431 ha, a decline of 1.04 per cent compared to the same period last year. The reason for this is that farmers in the province were moving their farming models to intensive and semi intensive farming forms with highly economic efficience such as mono - sex tilapia, whitespotted clarias cage farming combined with frog farming and climbing perch farming to take fully advantage of farming areas and maximum economic efficience on the same farming area.

In the coming time, administration agencies within fisheries sector will continue to propagandize activities and implement well policies on aquaculture development. As a result, it could encourage farmers to duplicate new farming models and apply advanced technology into aquaculture. At the same time, many aquatic seeds with high quality and productivity will be put into farming and infrastructure be upgraded to expand aquaculture.
