Vietnam's fisheries sector is preparing for a significant event, as the European Union (EU) will be carrying out an on-site inspection from September 24 to October 17, 2024. This initiative aims to assess compliance with food safety standards, particularly regarding chemical residues and antibiotics in seafood products exported to the EU. This inspection is not only a test of quality but also an opportunity for Vietnam to strengthen its position in the international market.

The Ministry of Agriculture and Rural Development (MARD) announced on February 2, 2023, that 23 Vietnamese seafood enterprises had been informed by the system of instructions to register the export of plant-based food to China (CIFER). Under the General Administration of Customs of China, this market has been officially approved, and declared eligible for export.
