Opening of Viet Nam Fisheries International Exhibition - Vietfish 2017 (30-08-2017)
On August 29th 2017, in Ho Chi Minh City, the Vietnam Association of Seafood Exporters and Producers (VASEP) organized the Viet Nam Fisheries International Exhibition 2017 (Vietfish 2017). The exhibition attracted more than 200 exhibitors and suppliers from 15 countries.
At present, Vietnamese seafood products are available at 165 markets worldwide, including EU, the US and Japan. With rapid growth over 20 years, fisheries sector not only created jobs for millions of people but also involved the development of a wide range of auxiliary industries such as machinery, animal feed, factory management, contributing to ensure Vietnamese seafood position in the world market.
The Viet Nam Fisheries International Exhibition (VIETFISH) is an annual event organized by VASEP in collaboration with other organizors. It has succeeded to be a business platform for fisheries stakeholders in recent years. Following successes in previous years, Vietfish 2017 brings together over 200 leading seafood processing and exporting companies in Viet Nam as well as from 15 countries worldwide such as Malaysia, Thailand, China, Japan, the US, Singapore, Indonesia, the Philippines, Germany, Poland with more than 350 exhibition booths and thousands of domestic and foreign visitors. Carrying the message of “Asia’s home of Seafood”, Vietfish 2017 will take place from August 29th to 31st, 2017 at Saigon Exhibition and Convention Center (District 7, Ho Chi Minh City).
In the framework of the Vietfish 2017, there will be important events and meetings where the renowned experts and speakers analyze issues such as development trend of seafood market, opportunities and challenges for the development of Viet Nam's seafood industry in particular and the world, food safety and hygiene, and certification of fishery products, traceability issues in the aquatic and marine supply chain; regulations relating to the labeling of fishery products, solutions to improvement of fishery quality, and improving the competitiveness of Vietnamese seafood exporters in the context of international economic integration, research and application of science and technology into fisheries production, which will lead to a sustainable and effective development of the Vietnamese seafood industry.
