Tra Fish Exports Are Forecast to Reach $2.6 Billion in 202227-12-2022

According to the Vietnam Association of Seafood Exporters and Producers, Vietnamese Tra fish processing factories did their best to run at full processing capacity in the first five months of the year, with a total export value of 1.21 billion USD. Almost a 90% increase over the same period last year. The good growth in most major export markets compensated for the Tra fish industry being severely harmed by Covid-19 for more than three years. Tra fish exports are expected to reach $2.6 billion this year.

On January 5, 2021, at Minh Phu Fisheries Company, Hau Giang Province, the Ministry of Agriculture and Rural Development cooperated with the People's Committee of Hau Giang province to hold the ceremony for the first shrimp export in 2021. The source of raw shrimp selected for export is Minh Phu Hau Giang Seafood Joint Stock Company, including 160 tons of frozen shrimp exported to the US, Europe and Japan.
