Bac Ninh province: Fisheries production in the first ten months reached over 30 thousand tons (06-11-2017)
According to Sub-Department of Fisheries of Bac Ninh province, the province’s fisheries production in the first 10 months of this year reached 30,317 thousand tons, increasing by 0.5 per cent compared to the same period last year.
Of this figure, aquaculture production reached 29,274 tons, increasing by 0.8 per cent and fishing yield reached 1,043 tons, reducing by 8.4 per cent. Also, its aquatic seed reached 895 million, dropping by 4.8 per cent.
In addition, aquaculture production in the province was estimated at 5,250 ha, reducing 0.9 per cent compared to the same period last year. The reason for this was the fact that some farming areas of ponds and lakes were polluted and some farming areas were moved to the other purpose.
Especially, in October, due to bad effect of storms and heavy rain, the water in lakes and ponds increased and spilled over spikes, causing losses to farming establishments. However, due to the price of input material and feed for aquaculture was stable, coupled with high price in commercial fish which encouraged farmers to expand their production.
