Ha Tinh: More than 1,000 tons of fish landed in the first quarter (20-04-2017)
According to the management board of fishing ports in Ha Tinh province, in the first 3 months of 2017, fishing ports in the province received 2,433 boats with 1,078.6 tons of fish, increased by from 5 to 7 per cent in compare to the same period last year, especially many kinds of high value species such as mackerel, squid, shellfish.
This is a positive sign showing that the marine environment is improving, the sea is slowly recovering. Along with the increase of capture volume, the consumption market is gradually stabilizing. According to the statistical data, the price of seafood has increased from 10 to 12% compared to the end of 2016.
The increase in fishing capacity and the gradual stabilization of the market is giving motivation for the fishermen to continue fishing. Ha Tinh fishermen are in the South fishing season (the main season of the year, from April to October). In this season, Ha Tinh strives to increase its total capture production to 19,060 tons.
