Hoa Binh province: More than 4,000 fish cages on Hoa Binh Lake (04-07-2018)
According to the report of Department of Agriculture and Rural Development of Hoa Binh province, in the first six months of this year, the production value of fisheries in the province was estimated at VND 110 billion, increasing by 4.7% over the same period.
It was forecasted that production value of fisheries for the whole year is at VND 233 billion, up 6.24% over the same period; accounting for 4.43% of the agricultural - forestry and fishery production value.
Localities has promoted the development of cage fish farming in large water areas, culturing specialties species on ponds and lakes under the restructuring orientation of the fishery sector. The province has got 2.6 thousand hectares of water surface serving for aquaculture.
The policy of development of cage fish farming was focused by the local authority, which has developed over 4 thousand cages for fish farming on Hoa Binh Lake. In the first half of the year, the fish production was estimated at 4 thousand tons, including 1 thousand tons of captured fish and 3 thousand tons of cultured fish.
The fish hatcheries in the province have paid attention in production of fingerlings and disease prevention in order to supply good fingerlings to the market. At the same time, localities continued to repair ponds, lakes and fish cages to prepare for the new crop.
