India is aiming to triple the domestic seafood production by promoting the implementation of projects related to seed production. At present, India has 4 hatcheries built with the capacity to produce 250,000 freshwater fingerlings and 4.35 million seedlings. In addition, production farms in Kulathupuzha and Kanatharkulam were approved by the Indian Government to support 49 million rupees and 95 million rupees for the second phase.
