Kien Giang disclosed the information ofillegal fishing vessels (18-09-2018)
Department of Agriculture and Rural Development (DARD)of Kien Giang province has disclosed the information of illegal fishing vessel (the 4th time). From 1 to 30/8/2018, there are 8 illegalfishing vessels.
According to an official document signed by Quang Trong Thao, Deputy Director of Kien Giang DARD, dated 25th of June, the list of fishing vessels and owners of vessels violating regulations on illegal, unreported and unregulated fishing will be published. The provincial Department of Agriculture and Rural Development has compiled a list of fishing vessels, owners of fishing vessels in violation of foreign fishing areas and illegal fishing.From 8 to 30/8 there were 8 fishing vessels, owners of the vessels in Chau Thanh district (2 fishing vessels) Kien Hai (2 fishing vessels), Rach Gia City (4 fishing vessels). All fishing vessels were arrested by Malaysian forces.
From early 2018 up to now, Kien Giang has over 20 fishing vessels seized overseas and illegal fishing vessels will be reported by Kien Giang DARD for illegal fishing and sent the information to Provincial Border Guard, Police, Military, Foreign AffairsDepartment, Department of Information and Communication, People's Committees of districts, towns, coastal cities and islands. The public announcement of violations of fishing vessels and vesselowners of Kien Giang province aims to synchronously implement urgent solutions to deploy the Prime Minister's Directive No. 45/CT-TTg dated 13/12/2017 on IUU, to control the fishery in order to remove the European Commission's warning of IUU fishing, to maintain prestige and brand name of Kien Giang and Vietnam in the world market.
