Introduction of super-intensive whiteleg shrimp model (12-06-2018)
On May 28, in Phuoc An commune (Nhon Trach district), Department of Fisheries (Department of Agriculture and Rural Development) held a workshop on raising high density whiteleg shrimp, which attracted farmers in Long Thanh and Nhon Trach districts.
The workshop introduced the province's plan on fisheries disease prevention and control in 2018, focusing on policies to support aquaculture farmers in pond improvement and treatment; testing and timely prevention from breeding stage in the current period when many households start releasing new breed. There are over 1,811 hectares of brackish water aquaculture in the communes of Phuoc Thai, Long Phuoc (Long Thanh District) and Long Tho, Phuoc An and Vinh Thanh (Nhon Trach District).
The workshop also introduced solutions to develop brackish aquaculture in the direction of sustainability, ensuring free of diseases and environmental protection in the direction of super-intensive farming from soil ponds to bottom – covered ponds. The highlighting thing is that this model has attracted business to associate and support farmers in breeding, technical process ... In fact, many farmers who convert high density whiteleg shrimp with this new technique has gained much higher profit compared to the traditional way.
