Hanoi City: Actively releasing fish to the natural environment (10-05-2019)
The Sub – Department of Fisheries (Hanoi Department of Agriculture and Rural Development) said that in recent years, all units have implemented activities of releasing fish on rivers and lakes in the city with the number of fish stocked from 1 to 2 tons /year.
Hanoi is a city with abundant natural aquatic resources in the rivers of Hong, Da, Duong, Tich, Bui, etc. and more than 9,000ha of low-lying fields, irrigation canals, etc. However, recently aquatic species products that live in a natural environment are seriously degraded in both quantity and production. Fish stocking activities on the natural environment aims to join hands to renew aquatic resources, encourage communities to actively participate in aquatic breeding into the natural environment, contributing to the development of effective and sustainable fisheries exploitation.
According to calculations, the demand for seafood products of Hanoi by 2020 is about 243,000 tons. In order to develop aquaculture in a sustainable way, Hanoi Agriculture sector is implementing synchronous solutions such as building intensive aquaculture models applying advanced technologies; efforts to develop agriculture in association with protecting natural aquatic resources, etc.
