Aquaculture area has increased by 1.9% (06-07-2018)

From the beginning of the year until now, the total fishery output of the whole province is estimated to reach nearly 37,000 tons, increasing by more than 1,000 tons over the same period of 2017.

At this moment the whole province has 11,200 hectares of water surface for aquaculture, increasing by 1.9% over the same period last year. To achieve the above mentioned results, the aquaculture households have recently maintained and developed more than 10,000 hectares by intensive and semi-intensive farming methods, accounting for more than 90% of the total aquaculture area in the province. Besides the maintenance and development of the inland aquaculture, the province has got 3.380 fish cages in river, rising by more than 350 cages in comparison with the same period in 2017.

Therefore, from the beginning of the year until now, the total fishery output of the whole province is estimated to reach nearly 37,000 tons, increasing by more than 1,000 tons over the same period of 2017. In the field of aquatic seed production, the province has produced more than 600 millions within the first six months, which demonstrates an increase by 5.7% over the same period. In order to further improve the productivity and quality of aquatic products, the agricultural industry requires localities to instruct farmers to focus on intensive farming of key aquatic species and to cooperate on organizing many training courses on clean aquaculture in accordance with VietGAP standards.
