          In recent months, farmers in provinces and cities has been excited to prepare production for Tet market. Tet is the most important time of the year for farmers to look for opportunities to produce and raise income.

          As in Nghe An, although heavy rains in October affected aquaculture, the households of Dien Chau, Quynh Luu, Vinh City have boldly invested in raising shrimp for the third season for the Tet market. At present, in Hung Hoa commune, 90 hectares of shrimp were cultivated in the third season to sell in Tet occasion. In addition, the area of ​​ fish culture also reached 18,460 hectares, an increase of 106 hectares; area of ​​shrimp was 2,230 hectares, an increase of 298 hectares; the area of ​​other aquatic products was 270 hectares, an increase of 6 hectares.

          As a key province for raising shrimp in the north, Nam Dinh has increased its farming area and implemented safe farming region. In addition to white legged shrimp and black tiger shrimp areas in Giao Thien, Bach Long, Nghia Thang, Nam Dien, etc, in the province, there were 11 small retail establishments and enterprises who have signed commitments to ensure the production of food safety. Therefore, many owners of aquaculture farms have actively participated in training courses on food safety and hygiene to equip necessary knowledge for production activities, practicing the stocking season according to the schedule, only stock the quarantined fingerlings. In addition, this province has developed and implemented a aquaculture program in accordance with the standards such as GAP, GMP, GlobalGAP for black tiger shrimp, white legged shrimp, clam, etc, extending the application of advanced quality management systems like HACCP, GMP, SSOP, etc.

          In Kien Giang, many shrimp and fish farmers were very excited when their aquaculture products certified by VietGAP can be sold at this occation.

          The successful results of shrimp farming in 2017 have motivated farmers to enter the new farming season. In addition to adherence to the guidelines of the agricultural sector, farmers also need to be active in the new raising season. Many households in Nghe An said that they will continue to harvest from now until Tet as the harvest is good this year and the price of shrimp is high. Farmers have committed not to use chemicals, antibiotics in production process, so products when marketed will be assured.  At the same time, businesses are also actively involved in shrimp farming. In Soc Trang, since the beginning of September until now, the price of shrimp in the local increased sharply. On average, black tiger shrimp of 30 units per kilo price ranged from VND 210,000 to 215,000 per kg, up VND 10,000 per kilo; white legged shrimp size of 100 units per kilo priced about VND 104,000 to 105,000 per kilo, up VND 3,000 per kilo.
